In its inaugural season, the NAHL Midget Showcase Series is hosted by the North American Hockey League, the only USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier II Junior A league in the country. This year's Midget Showcase Series is comprised of three tournaments which will be held in Minneapolis (September), St. Louis (December) and Detroit (February).
Held in conjunction with the NAHL Showcase Tournament in the Minneapolis suburb of Blaine, the season's first Midget Showcase Series event has established itself as one of North America's premier fall festivals. With hundreds of junior, college and professional scouts gathered under one roof, this Midget Showcase event offers prime exposure at all levels. Twenty (20) Midget Major Tier I AAA teams and ten (10) Midget Minor Tier I AAA teams will compete.
The second Midget Showcase Series event of the season is staged for the St. Louis suburb of Chesterfield. The tournament will feature twelve (12) teams at the Midget Major level and eight (8) teams at the Midget Minor level. College and professional scouts will be in attendance, along with at least one representative from every NAHL member team's coaching/recruiting staff.
Details on the third tournament of this season's NAHL Midget Showcase Series, which will be held in February in Detroit, will be announced at a later date.
